De gedetailleerde omgeving van Marijn van der Eyden
Artist statement
What is a house? What is a wall? How do those 'normal things' decorate the space around us? I see my work as an endless research into the built environment that is surrounding us. With a subtle and detailed focus on material, I make spacial works and collages inspired on our daily surrounding. The division/composition of space and the texture of the surfaces are significant. In my work I want to bring a more intense experience of the detailedness of the immense built world around us. My intention is to make the intriguing 'normal things', that are often overlooked, visible through their aesthetic value.
